I'm looking to spend no more than £300 for a tv for the bedroom. I don't need anything fancy, just one with a few HDMI ports and no smaller than 32"

Does anyone know if Ebuyer or Dabs etc have any GOOD tv's in this price range, I'm emphasizing the word GOOD as the last time I bought a budget TV from EBuyer it was absolute garbage.

I was looking at that exact same TV in TESCO, they are wanting £250 for it. £219 is a great price.
They had it on display showing a Blu-Ray of 'The Incredibles', picture was mint.

How have you found the TV mate, any flaws?

I bought it with the 5 year warranty for £21 extra..Its still boxed mate.xmas pressie for the lad

This is deliberate, you will also find they set the TV to Dynamic so that it's stupidly bright/coloured and animated movies provide the best clarity against real world. All the retail shops do it to entice people into thinking the picture is uber fantastic. Some of them don't even use HDMI and pretty much all will have the signal filtered through a splitter.

Probably not as big as an issue for what your looking for but everyone should be careful with this.

Ok this tv is a little newer than the similar model I own (I have the series 3 equivalent) but if it is as similar as I think it's awful mate no matter what you do you can't get the colours right and the tv seems to need a good hour of use before it gets a bit brighter and the image stops blurring with every movement.

I learnt long ago that samsungs low end is terrible whereas the mid range stuff is really good :) I'd stretch a little bit higher mate if you want something that isn't going to annoy you everytime you watch it

Of course this tv could be ok but I'd take a few films with me and ask to try it first :)

I was in asda tonight and saw a 40 inch luxor tv with built in usb media player for £299.
it was like this one HERE, but the one in the link dosn't say it has the usb player.

My Dad has a budget Samsung 50" Plasma and it's shit compared to my 50" LG Plasma (just can not get the picture to look the way I want it to, I've tried all sorts of settings and even settings that members of AVForums.com have recommended), however the new TV is going into my bedroom for the wife to watch 'Look who's Talking' over and over again whilst I sit downstairs watching porn, so image quality is not crucial. :)

@ Exos, nice TV but out of my budget I'm afraid - I promised myself I would not go a penny over £300.

@ Carlos, who on earth are DGM? :) Specs on that TV look great but I'm scared incase it turns out as 'good' as my last 'bargain' TV that I bought from eBuyer - it was fooking garbage. I'll do some research on it.

@ Sneaker, my Daughter has a 40" Luxor TV and it's actually quite a decent set. I'm sure she paid just over £400 for hers though last year - also bought from ASDA. I might pop instore and have a look at it before I go buy the Samsung.

Lol I'm loving the honesty! As for dgm they are an el cheapo make, I thought they just made pc screens (I have a dgm LCD) it was by far the cheapest I could find but it ain't half bad :) its lasted a fair few years aswell. Can't vouch for their tellys though.

Don't buy supermarket TV's, trust me they are poor quality and most end up going back. You are always better paying for a named brand. In the past I have had troble with Samsung and Panasonic but never (touch wood (my head)) with Hitachi or LG.

Regards

Kev

During the summer my LG started doing whacky things, it started to turn the screen off but the audio continued playing. I was sure it would need replaced/repaired but just as I was about to claim it on my house insurance I fiddled with the picture settings and the thing started behaving itself again and it's been great ever since. I think I had the picture settings set too 'high' - if there is such a thing and it was overheating. :)

You need to check what the sd picture quality is like on the tv's as thats what most channels are, cheap ones have crap quality
go for a panny or sony.

Just seen a comet advert for a 32" JVC for £229 if that's any good for you
