Thought I would come here and ask for a bit of help, was thinking about putting a light and a few plug sockets in the shed what would be the easiest way to do it.

There isn't anything in there atm but was thinking about changing it into a extra living space ie. few chairs, Stereo system etc for the summer

Don't fancy paying anybody if I can do it myself at a fraction of the cost.

You can buy outdoor extensions for use in the garden, the cheapest way would be to run one of these to the shed and hide the flex ;) They normally have their own breaker on as well.

The guy who owned my place years ago ran a spur off the downstairs ring to an RCD, then armoured cable along wall and into the shed.

I am sure I read somewhere that for external sockets, now the recommendation is that it should have their own circuit from your main fuse box.
