Im looking to upgrade the ram in my daughters laptop
found some ram on play(2gig) but there are 2 for the same price
1 is 667mhz
the other is 800mhz
will the 800mhz (memory speed) work on this spec laptop

Intel Celeron-M 370 Processor 1.5GHz
512MB DDR SDRAM
80GB Hard Drive
Intel GMA 900 128MB shared graphics

Acer Aspire 3613WLMi

no m8 u want
DDR2 400 mhz

so the 667 wont work either :( so only 400mhz will work nothing higher
I wanna upgrade it to 2gb

667 is ok if it is the DDR2 PC2-5300

Your laptop, the Acer 3610 Notebook series takes :

DDR2 PC2-5300
Unbuffered
NON-ECC
DDR2-667
1.8V

2 Slots Max 2GB (2 x 1GB)

The DDR 667 would be fine if it is the correct spec.

The DDR 800 would not be any good in the PC as it is PC2-6400.

Sorry I missed this first time around, but for anyone else following the thread memory is backward compatible and will slow itself to the speed the board allows, and indeed the speed of the slowest memory installed if you have different types.
