My laptop started shutting itself down and i've just noticed that the fan spins up on turn on but stops usualy when windows as loaded.
have stripped it and cleaned all the dust out but still only spins for a minute or so at max.

i only reinstalled win7 after it got a corrupted boot 2days ago and it started same day but can it be a OS issue.
lappy is a Acer 5630.
Anyone got any idea's

you got same laptop as me m8, my fan does same thing on boot up, it then turns it self on and off as needed, you tried flashing the bios see if there is a fix for it, not sure what bios i have will check next time i reboot.

cheers napster, i got the latest bios anyway and the good news after about half hours its still running ok.
Fans kick in at about 50c-55c with speedfan software.
Just wish there was someway to control fan/temp setting.
The huge chunk of dust i got from the tunnel between fan and case helped lol.

when you using laptop do you have it on your lap, could you be blocking the intakes to let air flow through
