I have a 5400 CI+ USB which has 'died' so need to buy a new box.
I know the 5402 is old, but I just need a simple non Linux box as only used by the wife to watch channels from her country. She is used to the menu structure of selecting channels etc.
I say this as somebody may advise an alternative receiver purchase?
I have never been able to get any external USB drive to work on this box (mains powered or USB powered).
So recordings were never possible & I am sceptical about external drives.
Can you please let me know if this works OK on the 5402 and suggest which external USB drive to buy, the size (ie 1TB) and if mains or USB powered etc.
I also need comments on EPG, if it works straight away or whether I need to download something.
Also, file structure on recordings - I have read that the naming of recorded programs is not that good, difficult to find a program recorded?
