Is the Wii Remote Region Specific?

Just wanted a quick and factual answer. I been searching everywhere but cannot find out if the Wii Remote is region specific. Can i buy a Wii Remote from the US\Spain\Asia\China and have it work on a UK Wii system?

Any Help would be appreciated.

Well, if history is to repeat it's self, then no it wont be... There hasnt ever been a controller which is region specific to date.

Bluetooth is bluetooth the world over.
