iPhone iphone 4 stuck at apple logo wont reboot

Hi all can anyone help me, a friend has asked me to look at her iphone 4 for her.
The problem is its stuck on the apple logo and stays there, there is no rebooting just a solid logo for hours and will not go off till the battery is dead.
Iv'e tried all the usual stuff (recovery) dfu) etc but the buttons don't seem to respond either so nothing is working.
Does anyone no what this could be? all she done was forget to charge it so battery died, also this was not jailbroke.

I'd try recovery mode again - powered off, connected to PC, etc. I'd try confirm if the buttons are working or not. Does it register when you connect to a PC?

No does not register on pc I've triedto put in recovery mode loads of times don't work it stays on apple logo and ya can't turn it of

what happens if you just press and hold both buttons at the same time for 30 seconds?

Nothing does not respond apple logo just stays on

Try to let the phone die again. Then plug it into computer and try to put into recovery.

How did it come to get stuck on logo? Was it dropped, repaired etc?
