Hi,
I'm definately a n00b when it comes to iphones etc, i've been thinking of getting a new phone, but wish to stay on my voda payg sim.

People have been saying you can buy the phone outright from an apple store, then it would just be a case of unlocking it.

I have no idea on how this is done, but i'm guessing its done by jailbreaking it?

I would wait for the o2 PAYT package they should release in time for xmas, but I need a new one now really, as my k800 has definately seen better days.

You have to buy them on contract from O2 over here in the UK, or get a 2nd hand one off ebay.

The newest ones the 3G versions, can't yet be unlocked. But within a couple of weeks I am sure that will be sorted.

ummmmm no they cant , only 2g iphones with version 2.0 firmware can be unlocked ( i have 1 and have done it ) the 3g phones are all on version 2.0 firmware and so far cant be unlocked although i dont imagine it will take long.
