iPhone How to change itunes account

Just brought a 3gs of my bro in law its jb'ed with winterboard and opened up to virgin.
its showing updates to apps but needs his itunes password so how can i set it in itunes to my own account.

I think you will need to do a factory reset so you can assign it to you.

Then you can jailbreak it again.
