yeah there do tend to get hot mate. Best thing to do is make sure it isn't in a confine space so it can send out all that hot air.
I was on mine the other day and gotta temp thingie in my room and the room went up from 17c to 24c in the space of 3 hours, plus my lcd will also pump out some heat to.

on the plus side come winter it will save on the heating bills

I use this site all the time esp' for getting games before you can get them in the shops ( I got vegas 6... 2 days ago and £10 cheaper than in the shop)

Just hope it doesnt tern in to an xbox 360 issue

were people put the extra fans on back and it drained to much power from the console and started faults on the console

i had my ps3 in a small space with the 360 and when it was on ...wow the heat was pumping out of it,to the point i thought was ott,so recited it on new unit and in an upright position with this cooling fan,looks part of the ps3 with a cool lookin blue led also and does a great job at depicitating the heat.
