How do you change modem serial number on SB4100?

Hi,

Firstly sorry for having to post this in here! I forgot my password for my old user account and to top it off, it now appears I can't recover my password because my email account no longer exists either! GREAT! roud:

Anyway, I was just wondering what hyperterminal commands can you use to change the Serial number (no, NOT the MAC! ) of a SB4100 modem? I've searched the modem forum (although had too many hits or not enough depending on the words used!) and had a look in the Haynes manual but couldn't see anything about it for the SB4100...

I have an old modem and would like to learn to change the serial number!

i have the fiber firmware on my sb4100 and i change the serial no. in the ie by typing 192.168.100.1/08-"and the serial here " i usually just change the last 5 digits eg. copy and past old one first

u can also use the bitfile method to change serial number

Why do you need to do that? Use bitfactoryeasy or sigma1.5 firmware

I've got a SB4100 that I've been using for about 4 years. I never changed the serial.
