Wifi never comes close to cables installs though.

I would not trust anything wifi for streaming, it might work fine one day but the next its all over the place.

If its basic internet browsing on pc's, laptops, etc then wifi would be the best choice as you would not have any installation headaches.

But if you wanted to sync movies, photo collections, steam from nas drives etc, or anything really that is pretty large in size and you don't want to wait hours, or have failed connections for whatever reason, I would stick a cable in.

Cat5e in homes would give you GB speeds anyway, unless your home is huge!

I ran out of cat6 when I was doing my house and needed 4 extra cables run to my living room, I could not wait and used cat5e, ... all run at gb speeds, well the green light on my switch says so lol.

Just a note if you have sonos or similar items that have inbuilt switches watch out for managed switches and jumbo frames, spanning tree, etc... they can be troublesome... I would personally go with unmanaged it is cheaper and just works.

NOT A FAN OF TP!
