HELP !!!!! Peeved Off wi a Nokia DBox2

Ok guys

eres a problem wots started pee`in me off big time.
I gave my gf a dbox last year it was working ok until nthell decided to change fequencies and then with in 4 days all the channels went walkies.
So I told my gf to get the cat 5 xover and a nullmodem cables, which she did.
I sent her IFA FlashFXP a new image ( cant remember which 1 Iv slept since then ).

she set evrythin up the cables to the comp changed the IP of the comp to 192.168.0.1 and made sure the IP for the dbox was 192.168.0.4 ( which is wot I set it up to wen I gave her the box.
the box was workin 100%

the 1st attempt evrythin was ok the comp saw the dbox visa versa via FXP
then wen she tried the IFA way they cudnt see one another (weird)

the story goes on .......... after a few hrs on the phone tryin to talk her how to do it (mmmmm) she gave up and brought it back up at xmas for me to try and sort out. ( I gave her my other spare box )

I tried sortin her box out wen she was ere but no luck........

startin to get a bit peeved now

Iv just spent the last 3 hrs trying to reset the box NO LUCK THERE NEITHER

now its really peeved me off

my IP on the laptop is 192.168.0.1 dbox IP 192.168.0.4
and will they see one another will they hell as like

I set all my boxes up wi that IP

Iv tried altering them but that didnt work neither

Iv tried the cables on my other box and thers nothin wrong wi the cables......

any of u lot can try and figure it out as its really got me now, its probly sumthin n nothin.

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what your trying to do but if its just a case of missing channels because of transponder changes then you only need to do a forced scan from the service menu and all will be well.

as long as fast scan off thats right no need for flashing unless you really want to m8

Hi gav

the Image is an old 1 its in english, but it will only look for german transponders which fails, I`ll hav a look today to see wot image is on it.

Oh yeah the Firewalls are turned off includin the anti-virus program.

@r6driver Iv tried diff IPs wot wer mentioned in the tuts and nothin.

What is your problem?
Are you not able to transfer the new image to the folder /tmp on the box and use the menue for writing or what?

Set gateway in the network menue of the box to the IP of the pc and do a network test.
After that the gateway should be reachable. If not something is wrong.

Network test on Dbox

IP for dbox is reachable
the gateway is unreachable
the name server is unreachable

thats wot it says

Ther is nothing wrong wi the cables as I flashed a mates box lastnight

Maybe the network device on the box is faulty.
In such a case its only possible to flash via nullmodem cable and hyperterminal.

just tried the hyperterminal way

following the readme file wi ur attachment

Iv followed the section on setting it up, I typed in dl 800000 at the prompt went to transfer file selected file clicked on send

and all I get is connection timed out or no responce from remote system

wot emulation do I try

Im on the laptop now hence the diff ID

got astrange feeling the gf mustv buggered it up wen she tried flashing it

it was workin perfect b4

ah well such is life

looks like I`ll b binning it if I cant get it to work

so ther might b a dbox up for spares or repairs soon

Its should be easy to flash via hyperterminal.
Did you get the message S record load, offset: 800000?
