help avi to svcd or vcd

how easy is it please to convert an avi downloaded film

from say win mx to then burn onto blank disc to play as svcd or vcd ,

any help on appropriate software or help would be gratefuuly received,<br />regards scoot <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

all i do is use nero it converts it for you as well i have used it for avi to vcd and m peg to vcd use the wizzard its easy

sorry to butt in but a couple of questions, can I record say video tape material on to my hard drive and then burn on to cd-r , will all dvd players play cd-r/vcd, going to use an external cd writer as no slot on pc any good makes about

Sorry to butt in but nero is a load of rubbish soz guys,but i have found that ulead dvd movie factory is the best program yet it splits it converts it and copies it to cd,as easy as 1,2 nero...don`t know the download site but just search for ulead....hope this will help
