head unit trouble ?

i bought a second hand head unit for my primera last week. it came today and when plugged it it displys secure anyone got any ideas .
Sounds like it might need to be divorced from the car that it came out of. That means it will only work with the car that it came out of another term for it is TECH 2, manufacturers did this to help prevent car crime. You may be lucky if you take it to some of these decoding places that could de-activate it allowing you to put it into your car but..............that might not work.
