I only use Firefox as a browser but Google Chrome keeps running in the background using up to 90% CPU, I tried disabling 'do not run in background' but it still keeps running, can anyone help, Thanks.

Just remove it ;
  1. On your computer, close all Chrome windows and tabs.
  2. Click the Start menu. Settings.
  3. Click Apps.
  4. Under 'Apps & features', find and click Google Chrome.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Confirm by clicking Uninstall.
  7. To delete your profile information, like bookmarks and history, tick 'Also delete your browsing data'.
  8. Click Uninstall.
You can always download and reinstall at later date if you want to switch to that browser.

Try the old way

on your search type msd , select command prompt right click and run as administrator

now type msconfig and hit the enter key

select startup and click onto open task manager then disable Google Chrome

reboot pc

You shouild be able to remove Mircoshit edge easily

Here are the steps to disable Microsoft Edge:

1. Open the Start menu and type "PowerShell" in the search bar.

2. Right-click on "Windows PowerShell" and select "Run as administrator".

3. In the PowerShell window, type the following command and press Enter: Get-AppxPackage *MicrosoftEdge* | Remove-AppxPackage

4. Wait for the command to complete and then close the PowerShell window.

This will remove the Microsoft Edge browser from your computer. However, please note that this may cause some system instability and may affect other Microsoft applications that rely on Edge. If you encounter any issues, you can always reinstall Edge using the Microsoft Store.
