The Wife Just tried the above recipe tonight, I usually have the odd tin of baxters french onion soup and its really nice on chilly night when I am fishing and stuff, but this was really nice, we just chucked a half glass of white jacobs creek in instead of the one in the recipe.

Might make one next weekend I haven't made one for ages, I like to flame some brandy with the onions to add a lovely flavour.

Yes that,s the spirit lol I have liked onion soup for ages people say " yuck you dirty get " all the time but when the taste it there supprised how sweet it is, and does not taste like raw onion's. Tell you what it warms you up alright, class for colds and stuff.

Made this earlier but without the wine and it's too sweet. Added some chillies to compensate

Going to try it properly next week.
