I have a 6680. What would the benefit be in upgrading the firmware, if any? I've never done that before. It also says you can do it over-the-air so you don't need a data cable.

You dont get any new features or anything just bug fixes, you can find your current version on the phone by typing *#0000# into the phone...

If you dont have any problems with the phone you might not need it, but shops charge about £25 to flash upgrade firmware on the N70 and they use specialist equipment... With this you can do it yourself for free with just a cable, the over air option just works on some phones...

N70
Version 2 had quite a few problems with bluetooth and TomTom as well as freezing and occasional restarts
Version 5.06 fixed freezing & restarts, TomTom works perfectly

You can take it to a Nokia service center and have it done for free under the Nokia warranty if you like but you normally need to take your receipt and leave the phone with them a few days too...
