On the plus side I thought I would offer it to the good members of DW before I ebayed/ gumtree'd it.
It is an optoma ep720i and can handle video inputs up to and including hd ready (720p 1080i). It does this via the VGA connector so I will be throwing in my component to vga lead so you are good to go!
It has been barely used (27 hours) and has been looked after like it was one of my children
The manual has been lost but is downloadable here
