Brand new AGP Nvidia 6600 GT
I have just got a replacement back from the shop.
My old box but a brand new card.
Chaintech has announced its latest graphics card, this one based on Nvidia's upcoming AGP 8x version of its GeForce 6600 GT chip.
The Chaintech GeForce 6600 GT replaces the company's older FX5900XT board, matching its predecessor on price but providing a significant performance hike, the Taiwanese manufacturer claimed.
The card's core is clocked to 500MHz, the GDDR 3 memory - of which there's 128MB, operating across a 128-bit bus, to an effective 900MHz (actually 450MHz).
The 110nm 6600 chip contains eight parallel pixel processing pipelines and three vertex engines for a fill rate of 4bn texels per second and 375m vertices per second.
Nvidia is also preparing an AGP version of the standard 6600 chip, clocked at 300MHz, with effective DDR memory speeds of 500-550MHz.
There's also a PCI Express version of the AGP-based GeForce 6800 LE on the way. It's clocked at 325MHz, with its DDR memory running at an effective 600MHz across a 256-bit bus. It contains eight pixel pipelines and four vertex units. Like the 6600 AGP, the 6800LE supports PureVideo, Nvidia's HDTV engine. It also supports SLI.
According to Nvidia, the new chips will ship in February. ®
Supercharge your gaming with the power of an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GPU. The NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6600 GPUs deliver best-in-class performance and advanced visual effects for next-generation games. The only GPU in its class with support for Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, the GeForce 6600 delivers ultra-realistic effects, unmatched features, and rock-solid stability so you can play your game the way it’s meant to be played.
