firefox reconnection problems

i'm using mozilla fire fox and the internet connection goes down at random times but when it re connects the gateway and all, my firefox doen't. any1 know y?
i have to reboot my pc its starting to get annoying

I'm confused mate, Firefox is just a browser, your network settings should have no effect on it. Can you not just close firefox down and start a new instance?

Is it just firefox? Next time it happens try a different browser to confirm.

If the other browser also fails to connect try: [winkey]+[R] > cmd > cd\ > ipconfig /release [enter] > ipconfig /renew [enter].

Vista users need to do this in an 'elevated command prompt'. Rather than just clicking ok once you've typed cmd press [ctrl]+[shift]+[enter] to 'run as administrator'.
