i have got firefox and i have just noticed that when i come on the net via firefox it is dead slow this is because in tools options connection settings then manual proxy config i have to keep changing it to auto detect to get the speed right again how do i get it to stay on auto detect all time so when i come on the net via firefox the speed is right

thanks in advance

speed up Firefox >>>
In the URL bar, type “about:config” and press enter. This will bring up the configuration “menu” where you can change the
parameters of Firefox.
network.http.max-connections = 64
network.http.max-connections-per-server= 20
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server= 10
network.http.pipelining = true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 20 or 30 (choose one)
nglayout.initialpaint.delay = 0
network.http.request.max-start-delay = 0
If nglayout.initialpaint.delay doesnt exist, Right click, new integer.

Optional:
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy = 10
network.http.proxy.pipelining = true
network.http.proxy.version = 1.0

Close mozilla and start it again.

WARNING: These settings make you download sites considerably faster, BUT put a great overload on the sites you go to. This really means nothing other then the fact that anyone else browsing will just go slower and you will absorb their speed.

Next tip:
Disable IPv6 in Firefox for a nice page speed increase!!........ because most if not all of the web is still using IPv4...........and it works in Windows version of Firefox too.

Open Firefox.........type about:config (enter)

look for :Network.dns.disableIPv6
Double click to to toggle it to 'true' and then restart Firefox.
You should notice a speed increase.........page to page.
Now make Firefox really work for you...

change what to auto detect? If your on about your proxy settings you can keep that on auto detect, just go into the configuration page and make all the necessary adjustments

yes i change it to auto detcet but next time i come on the net it changes to manual proxy config and it as an ip address in it the page loads up dead slow so i have to keep changing it to auto detect every time i come on the net

oh i see. well it does not look like it is saving your settings. have you tried uninstalling then install the latest? dont forget to apply all the security patches? or alternatively use a different browser !!

yes tried uninstalling and putting it back in still no diffrence i have got internet explorer but that goes slow which is normal for that which is why i got firefox because its faster and safer where can i get the security patches from for firefox

thanks in advance

You can go on the firefox website. There is another untility for firefox that might make your settings stick but i am unable to find it as i am at work.

Out of preference i use Opera at home, i find this the fastest browser.

What type of connection are you on?

Hmmm you page loading should be pretty instant. Sorry mate i can't help much more on firefox whilst im at work however you can try downloading Opera and see how that goes.
