Ferarri SIM Team Release SS76F Unpatched Images Now on Ferarri SIM

Looks like Ferarri SIM team have released a new bootloader to allow unpatched original images to be run on DM800HD clones.

Similar to the SIM 2.01 Team Bootloader SS76a released a few weeks ago. Ferarri team however claim there patch is better...see below (taken from another forum).

Intresting however as there has been claims that a Ferarri SIM is actually just a modified SIM 1... It seems this whole SIM business is just a way of making money by clone manufacturers...nI wouldnt be surprised if we see a SIM 2.02 in the near future...rather than bootloader fixes/patches for SIM2.01..

18/08/2010 SSL76F for DM800 box released. SSL76F download here. What is SSL76F? It is small loader made for DM800 receiver with Ferrari cards you can use any Genuine DM800 Linux NFI image with all the features of Genuine card. Up now and on you can use any DM800 image w/o any patch, online latest drivers
update available, all interesting plugins like mytube etc. are now and on availabe w/o any patch. So there is no need to keep full database of Linux NFI files for your Ferrari DM800 filled by patches here. Use freely any of your favourite DM800 image. We will keep our download section database up-to-date by some major releases only to be able to find and download easy way for our customers.


Summarize:

SSL76A by SIM201 team can not work w/o patches with latest images, can not work with pythons apps w/o patches...

SSL76F by Ferrari team - ohhhh lucky all Ferrari Smart Card owners. By this SSL76F there is no difference between GENUINE Smart Card and Ferrari Smart Card. All works like charm, no patches necessary anymore, simply upload any Genuine NFI image followed by SSL76F and that is.

If there is no difference between the Ferrari SIM and the genuine SIM, then why can't we just install a genuine SIM in the first place? :err:

Can someone explain this whole SIM situation?

Dont think you can buy an original SIM, Dream onlly provide them if you send them an original faulty one.

Dont know anyone has tried one in a clone though...wonder if it will work..someone whos got both an original and a clone fancy trying it ??? roud:

As far as i know original SIM works fine in clone, will install BL76F later and do a write up for everyone

Edit:

Just installed BL76F onto my clone, currently using DreamElite 1.3.3 ORIGINAL image and all is working fine up to now, box is even more responsive and all plugins i have tried have worked without problenms (still need to try mytube) would advise anyone with a SIM 1.0 to upgrade as box now appears to work just like an original (for now)
