Err01: No ca found <-----------help need to reflash.....

guys...

have a dm800 clone, not used for few years, cranked it on and this Err01 error...

need to reflash....cant remember how?

ill explain my set up....

its not on network but can it be on network through ethernet connected to my computer?? i dont want to connect direct to modem at present as the modem is down stairs and box/computer is up here.


once connected/networked up, what is easiest/best way to flash from scratch? ideally would use the digital worldz image.

You will need to get an image that suits your box.
Hold in the standby button on the frount and power it on, you should get a stop error and it shows an IP address. Enter this into your browser and the go to upgrade near the bottom. This will take you to a new page and browse for your image andwait till it finishes. Restart the box.

i am doing this with crossover but it isnt showing IP :Cry:

It won't do unless your laptop/pc at the other end of the x-over cable is serving out IP addresses.

To save the hassle I'd just connect it to router or a switch which is connected to the router, should make the job a lot easier.

Never thought of that sorry m8,
You will need to use a null modem cable so and flash it the long way with dreamup unless you can connect it to the network somehow

If you use the crossover cable, you will need to set a static ip on your laptop

On your laptop

192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0

And that is the only settings you enter.

Dont think that will work as he wont be able to give or get an ip for the box?

i have now connected dreambox direct to router with crossover cable and when i press power button then plug it in i still get the error message...i dont get an ip...what can i do now?

No ca found by 2nd stage loader
This can be done in 2 ways.
1) You have to have a working dreambox.
2) DM800_repair, you alter dreamup to be able to use greyed buttons.
Now for the first sollution.
1) Connect working dreambox DM600/DM800.
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When dreambox is found by dreamup, insert Null-Modem cable in
the broken dreambox.
4) Press flash button, and chose a firmware.
5) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
6) Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
7) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)
Now for the second sollution
1) Connect broken dreambox DM600/DM800
2) Open dreamup, press connect.
3) When you see second loader error popup, just press ok.
4) Open
5) Drag DM800_repair in front of dreamup, and press dream multimedia logo.
6) Now press the greyed Flash button, and chose firmware.
7) The flash progress will probably hang, its OK.
Cool Open dreamup again, connect the broken box, press connect.
9) If all went ok, you can now flash box again, (Use only serial
communication)

i downloaded the rar file....it came with a virus...i have just spent the last four hours removing this....

very annoyed...

thanks anyway....

still want to sort out dreambox.....the above method didnt work anyway on a different computer...

Twice now when my dm800 has been off for a while I got that error found out it was the sim was loose try push it back down or hold it down tight while powering on
