The popular US entertainment news programme Entertainment Tonight is to hit Sky One screens in January when a brand new UK version is launched. Sky One controller James Baker said the new weekly version will be hosted by British presenter Amanda Byram (known for her appearances on The Swan and The Big Breakfast). The UK version of Entertainment Tonight will be shot in Hollywood on the same set used for the US series. "The new show will give UK viewers extensive coverage of all the best celebrity stories from the week and a unique look inside the lives of the UK's most talked-about stars," a Paramount spokesman said. In addition to the new show, Paramount has also licensed to Sky One the half-hour daily US version, which it air on the day after its US broadcast.
