Dear Mr. Duffy, thank you for your email.

I can certainly see differences in the two images you have sent me. In particular, the race track edge, trees and sparks all seem to display incorrectly, possibly due to a video card error.

We would consider this to be a mechanical fault with the console, and as such, we would repair it free of charge under the standard European Warranty. I have also forwarded these images to our contacts at Nintendo of Europe in Germany for their assessment.

Kind regards,

Jackson Davies

Your Nintendo Team

here are the piccies that i showed them: -

it seems that whenever there is any rapid horizontal movement on the screen, sort of interlacing artifacts appear.

Now they told me at the time, that a lot of NEW UK consoles were coming from germany but it used to be china. With this in mind, I sourced a USA unit. Low and behold, it had exactly the same problem.

I can only sumise that nintendo either have a major problem or they have cut costs etc.

Its doing my head in, because I need between 5-10 of these units for people and i dont know where to buy a decent one.

The last time i remember this sort of thing, it was with the original DS where they used 2 sorts of touchscreen, one with dim clarity (but smooth) and another that was crystal clear bit had a diagonal ribbing.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Neil
