Install the newcamd 6.04 full package and the newcamd config files for dream 500 on your gemini image.
Open the file cardserver.cfg in the folder /var/tuxbox/config with tuxbox commander and insert a new line with the BK from your card at the end.
BOXKEY = 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88
Save the file and chose newcamd with cardserver in camd menue.

what about the ird? would that be all zeros?

IRD is not needed. The IRD part will be only checked from subbed boxes or chipped original provider boxes.

Nobody care about IRD on a dreambox. The IRD is not part of the key for the communication decoding between box and card.
