All I'm trying to do is to unlock this car radio, and I'm in a big rush trying to fix it before work tomorrow morning... Sorry I guess.

Hi 2 all,

I'm rebuilding a 20 year old BMW Bike with the original Clarion radio. The code is missing. I would appreciate the help.

BMW by Clarion
PU-9203A
Serial No. 286-6841-00

Thanks a lot.

Hi smoggie, thanky for your reply!!
that's my problem, their is no additional serial number on it, Over 20 years ago BMW build this Radio into the Motorbikes. And my intend is to leave the original radio in the bike.

that model uses jumpers for the code
you need to open up radio and see if you can see a section that has 10 jumpers...some will be cosed and some open and from the sequence the code is defined

as an addition the jumpers may be diodes
I would also expect them to be numbered 1 to 10

Hi smoggie, thank you for your patience! But I've some additional questions. Is there a decoder to convert the jumper sequence into the 4 digits that I need for the code? If this Radio is coded with the jumpers probably the decoding services wont work?
Thanks in advance!!!

I'm pretty sure I will be able to decode from sequence

Hi smoggie,
after some work I have found the sequence:
Jumper 1: Closed
Jumper 2: Closed
Jumper 3: Open
Jumper 4: Open
Jumper 5: Closed
Jumper 6: Closed
Jumper 7: Open
Jumper 8: Closed
Jumper 9: Closed
Jumper 10: Open

*** Additional information: 3114 is wrong***
*** Additional information #2: 4561 also wrong***
Thanks again for your support!

those codes are correct by calculator but I have seen it give wrong codes

first try 3531
if it doesn't work try closing only 123 and code should be 1122 I know this has worked

Hi smoggie,

to give you feedback! The code didn't worked. It to some time because I'm not got in soldering. FYI in to all the others that have the same problem: I left all 10 jumpers open and this means CODE 1111,

Very much appreciated your help.

Hi folks!
I'm trying to bring back to life the Clarion Radio I got with my K75RT bike...
Its model is PU-9203A, and its serial is 0003846.
The pads connected inside are 1, 2 and 8
Unfortunately, I cannot download the app that Mick sent, as I'm a new user of this forum... :)
Thank you in advance for your help!

try codes 1446 or 4435
if these don't work do as previous poster and leave all open for code 1111

Thank you smoggie!
Codes did not work but sucking solder from the pads and then entering 1111 went very well! :)
Now I have another problem, and it is that I have 1 mute channel (left) when using the cassette, whereas both channels work when using the radio...

Well, actually I still have cassettes, and a cassette recorder if I want to record cassettes from CDs...
And you definitely get a vintage feeling using cassettes with a 1990's motorcycle! ;-)
