If the smart tv has a browser then you could open the dreamboxs webinterface and try stream from there. Maybe plex if available on the tv could too. Not got a smart TV so can not be specific.

I'm not sure if it is possible to stream directly to the TV, but it should be possible to use an inbetween setup. For example, I used an Xbox 360 with media centre, and then streamed the TV from the DM800SE using DVBlogic on a PC. Worked well, and I could change the TV channel using the Xbox remote

If you have a android device you can install dreamdroid from play store configure the IP address of the 800se then install hd cinema when you go to stream movie it will ask you to play on dreambox and away you go
