Ive currently been playing with a 500C box which I am happy to flash and Faff with to sort out keys and get all of the channels on using the normal feed,

just contemplating some satellite stuff to replace/update, the big question is, using the same sort of flashing with appropriate images, can you get the same channels as i had on the 500c from a sat set up or not.

I was kind of thinking of a motorised dish and a DM500 or DM600 but not sure about what kit is what to be honest in terms of the Dishes and any other kit you'll need / budget to look out for.

I have had a scan through the posts but kind of need someone who has done both to give me a few clues before i splash any cash. Ive already got xover cable & null modem cable for previous DBOX/Dm500c

If anyone has got any info they would like to share, feel free

Bob

M8 if you move away from thinking free S*y channels than you will find that there is much much more available on satellite. I have cable but decided to look into satellite at Christmas time and now I hardly watch cable in fact if it wasn't for the kids wanting to watch kids channels I probably wouldn't have even bothered fixing my DM600.

well if there's lots of other stuff to watch thats fine lol the sly channels are a pile of pap anyway, but i was kind of asking if there were some of the channels eg discovery that were on some of the satellites. i only watch documentaries, and sport and news but having not seen anyone with a satellite bit of kit ive got no idea what the hell they re watching lol.

hi bob100 ..
i have a 1 metre motorised dish and a dm500s...there is loads of info on the net on setting it up..
i found it quite easy after a bit of reading...
there are a few packages open at the moment that have english programmes..
discovery channels/kids channels/sport/latest films/all in english...
cant go into too much detail on here i think...
when i first got into sat about 10 years ago my setup cost about 800 quid..
you can now get the same for less than £300...

i hardly watch normal tele theres such a wide choice on sat...

if you need anymore info just ask ...
