today i had a play about with a ambit 200 and loaded sigma onto it.

it seemed to work, after it loaded on i was able to go onto the sigma menus via 192.168.100.1. so turned it off thinking that everything was ok.

later on i tryed to put a mac on it but its not doing much, only power light on and viewing the boot via HT says " Annex A reg writes not finished yet" and it hangs there.

Its weird that it was working? i also noticed a couple others with the problem , have they found out whats wrong?

Hey

Try this:

go to telnet then:

o 192.168.100.1 (press enter twice)

cd cm_hal
stop_scan
cd \
cd non vol
clear_device
yes
defaults
yes
yes
UpdateSettings
cd halif
annex_a
cm_tuner 14
cm_annex 3
UpdateSettings
mac_address 1 **:**:**:**:**:** (where ** are you mac address)
UpdateSettings

now close the telnet window

Then disconnect your modem from power and then wait for like 30 secs,

Power it back on go to sigma page, Fequency Page put your details for:

Scan plan: (I used north america) then change
DS Frequency:(I used 402750000) then Change

Disconnect again and now plug in ur feed cable in and it should work.

problem is i cannot telnet it, as it gives the modem an invalid ip (169.xxx.xxx.xxx)

the modem just hangs during its boot at "Annex A reg writes not finished yet" and i cannot enter commands in HT and cannot telnet it either

Make sure you have a dynamic IP on not Static.

Do u have a MAX232?

If u do u can do it via hyperterminal!

Do this if u have a MAX232:

cd cm_hal
stop_scan
cd \
cd non vol
clear_device
yes
defaults
yes
yes
UpdateSettings
cd halif
annex_a
cm_tuner 14
cm_annex 3
UpdateSettings

Then a hard reboot (disconnect and connect it back on).

Now try telnet and see if it works.

yeh dynamic ip is on

using the 232 i can view it booting in HT but once it gets to that "Annex A reg writes not finished yet" iu cannot do anything the modem just sits and i cannot enter commands into it via hyper terminal

well, ehm ... you could try to install sigma again, or the downgrade firmware!

Youll need to recover it using a jtag and then put original firmware back onto it,basically as it stands atm its bricked (ish) take alook around for the ambit200 jtag tut and it explains whats what and what youll need to do it,

Marc

yeh uve confirmed my fears :(
