legend there, much more famous than here. He was living latterly in
Heckmondwike, apparently, and died, presumably, just up the road from
me in Dewsbury Hospital, to where he was flown from Milan last week.

A sad day for football.

Indeed. No doubt about it, John Charles was one of the greats, and
probably did more than anyone with the possible exception of Don Revie to
put Leeds United on the map. And show me how many other British
footballers have gone to Italy and played like stars.
