Converting to mpeg 4

Hi there

Anyone clued up on how to convert various files ie avi, divx etc to mpeg 4
for my Archos drive?
I have tried various programs, but lots of different errors, namely 'does not recognise audio????

if you have nero 7 - the recode software is brilliant
for converting video files to mpeg4 - good picture
quality also - failing that have a look on any of the
psp sites most of them offer programs for converting
video for use on the psp (mpeg4) xilisoft psp video
converter is particularly good and the resulting
mpeg4 files are a good bit smaller than other
converters produce

I have Nero 6, but I don't think it has the encoding for mpeg 4.
I will upgrade to Nero 7.

I use and recommend TEMPGenc for converting avi and divx files to MPEG4

It has a simple user interface and you get quality results every time.

I use something called Videora iPod converter to convert various video formats into mpeg4 format for me iPod Video. This is a total freeware program... I use the Nero PC to Portable device converter to convert DVD rips into mpg4's for my iPod.

I have Nero 7 and others dvd dychpher

but the best one i use is Svcd2Dvd it costs a £10 life time membership and updates.

it does all the joining of the movie--first class program all round

On the archos site there is a program which makes the picture much better for viewing on the small screen.
