Computer Fairs

I loved them.
There was 1 in Nottingham and Derby every month that i went to frequently.

Drooling at the things i could not afford to buy 😄.
I use to get all my CD/DVD - R's and printer stuff cheap back in the day.
Ive not seen 1 advertised for many years now.

I've never had the pleasure of visiting one. I should imagine that they were far more popular when the internet was still in it's infancy. I remember when things in the computing world moved at a far more sedate pace. The cpu, graphics card, memory etc; were still relevant for a good while before they were superseded.
Nowadays we have a new generation every year. The new generation cpu won't fit in your existing motherboard so all of a sudden a decent upgrade has now virtually become a whole new system.

After a long wait for my graphics card I have managed to get 20 months out of my latest setup but am starting to get the itch to upgrade again.
