Hi Guys
Can anyone help, My friend has a Chrysler Neon car Automatic which the remote for the Immobiliser does not work.Apparently the receiver + remote need reprogramming, But this can only be done if you have at least one working remote which we have not got. as the car is automatic towing to the garage to have the receiver-remote changed.
any help really appreciated

Hi
Unfortunately I live in london.
I gather the unit manufacturer unit is linked to the management system. The engine is fuel injected so loads of things to switch off unfortunately. I am amazed that there is not some emergency disable function provided you have the key but apparently not .
a real pain when you think a small piece of plastic with some electronics could leave you totally stranded , scarey Eh.
security is one thing but this is stupid.
Thanks for your offer of help.
regards Vfr.

mobile alarm fitter`s are normally pretty good. my m8 had a foxguard alarm/immobiliser on his rs turbo and something had made the key phobe and alarm unit go out of synch, hence he couldn`t start the car. he called the AA, who set about stripping the dash out to get to the control box. after they stripped it out, he said he couldn`t do anything with it, only tow him to a garage. he politely told him to piss off. by chance he see a van down the road which had foxguard alarm specialist on the side. he called him up, 10 minutes later and £10 job done.
my advice is to find out who makes the immobiliser for that neon then contact one of the mobile fitter`s in the yellow pages.

Thanks Mate

Yea Tell me about it I am an electronics technician by trade, I don't claim to know everything and on occasion have had to rely on such individuals mutch to my cost . this Chrysler Neon Imobiliser is factory fitted to cars from new and should it go wrong wirhout at least one functional remote the only option is to change the receiver and Buy 2 new pendants if you are sensible .
available from your frendly Chrysler Dealer at a cost

what i meant was, that some manufacturers use outside people to supply the alarm systems, eg, VW use scorpion with some of their cars, but put VW badges all over it so u cant tell.

another idea is to join one of the yahoo chat groups for neon car owners, they might be able to give u some good gen?
