GUys,

I just tried two new images on my nokia dbox2, the commando 2 and the pacino 2.

They both loaded perfect and after a scan found all the channels.

However the picture/sound is very very choppy on almost all channels!

This was the same with my original image but I popped to Argos this morning and bought that SLX 1 signal booster - which sorted that problem.

Should a different image have different "signal" needs?

Update:

I have just reverted back to the backup of the original Sportster image I took and its now even worse than ever!

I have tried with and without the signal booster and also tried adjusting the gain on the booster device - no good :(

ANy ideas please?

You should consider looking at uCodes/CAMD combinations.

post your ber/sig/snr readings m8.

you can get these by pressing the red button then blue button

Done it for a few channels mate with and without the signal booster.

Front Row 09

Without Booster: 26k, 60k, 41k
With Booster: 26k, 52-60k,41k

BBC1

Without Booster: 11-77k, 59-61k, 41k
With Booster: 10-51k, 60k, 41k

Sky Movies 4

Without Booster: 26k, 53-60k, 41k
With Booster: 26k, 58-59k, 40-41k

-----------

With the booster almost all channels are now pretty much unwatchable. I have tried turning the gain on the booster all the way around too.

Im well confused!!

.

Your signals to strong, you don't need a booster you need an attenuator.

i think we have some of them in the cable digi box downstairs. they are connectors you plug your standard cable feed into before plugging into the box yeah?

i will try and swipe one when no1 is watching to give it a try lol!

could you let us know how you get on as i have just got a box 2day that has the same syphtoms

i have two things i got out back of our cable digi box downstairs.

one is "forward path equaliser - 8dB"
the other "forward path attenator - 3dB"

i tried them both last night and neither worked. i tried them with and without the signal booster.

BUT - when i took them out and the signal booster out every channel was working perfect!!!!

ber was down to like 600 on most channels!!!?!?

however this morning every channel was choppy again except the front row ones - which then went choppy half way thru a film.

so i plugged it into the signal booster and...gues what...every channel perfect again!

should it be this "random" ?!

Mgb means have you tried the dbox downstairs
plugging the feed straight to it taking all other boxes, splitters, attenuators and booster out of the loop.

It looks like you have a cable connection downstairs and upstairs.
Did you check the box on the same plug.

Ah i see!

We actually have 3 cable points in this house. 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs.

Shall I guve the dbox a try in each of the other two points?

Or try disconnecting the other two then trying again here?

With there being 3 points, are they "shared" or should they be 3 individual connections?

Thanks your your help lads - very much appreciated!!

They will be split from the main cable
try on the other points to see if there is any improvement
if there is try it upstairs again with the other two disconnected.

just tried from my brothers room and downstairs.

the picture quality/signal is much better on those two cable feeds - however now on all 3 feeds i get no encrypted channels. all i get is the free to air channels?!

i have disconencted the other two feeds now and am gonna try my original feed see how it performs now.

try changing the camd or ucode
blue button twice in there somewhere.
