Ah, I've not been clicking one of the suggested names that comes up but just entering the text and letting the forum resolve it. I did notice that the space was added if I do click one in the list that comes up though.

Although I can't remember if it does it when I quote a post with only text. It doesn't do anything strange when I don't use Mentions. I thought it was something JS related.
