## C10d - SS4.1 Enigtrino2 ##

But you haven't confirmed that you have done the chmod 755 on the files you ftp'd to the /bin folder, m8. This includes nhttpd itself- if it isn't 755 then it cannot 'execute' - ie: it can't start!

Cheers- AL :)

Yes mate, 755'd the other files.

There was no nhttpd file in the rar I downloaded though? If it's on the DBox, where would it be?

Thanks.

posted on a different forum.....

or u can rip yweb from the 10d or other img and add it to enigtrino

get the httpd-y folder from the /share/tuxbox/neutrino/httpd-y (complete)
get the dboxshot, nhttpd and fbshot from the /bin/ folder

transfer these files/folders across

chmod to 755
everything in the httpd-y/scripts folder
the nhttpd, dboxshot and fbshot files

finally edit the start_neutrino file in /etc/init.d/ folder - add nhttpd to list where zapit is, save - make sure this file is 755 and it should work

Thanks guys, will give that a go... Appreciated.

Just had to IFA the fecking thing...! :( Dunno what happened, I could still acess it via FTP, but it wouldn't finish the boot process. it just stayed on the loading EnigTrino page, (black/white text).

Anyway, got it back now, so will try again... Thanks again all. :)

FFS. I've added everything, 755'd everything, done all things mentioned above. Now the bleeding thing has gone and fecked up again...

Got to IFA the thing again... ARGH!

Might as well go back to VLite or try Quad at this rate.... :(

Start from the begining m8 with just the basic image without yweb and get that sorted first, back it up and keep it safe,
then start adding the yweb bits maybe couple of bits at a time with reboots in between to see where its falling down?

Thats if you have the patience :proud:

I've done all that mate. ;)

I've just made another new backup, with my new bouquets after doing a scan to pick up those chans that were went missing yesterday. I'm happy I've got a full working backup image, so that isn't a concern.

It seems to be when I edit the start_neutrino file, but I'm not 100% certain of that. because I've tried things so many times since yesterday when I started with this... It's too late now, but I'll have one final bash at it tomorrow.

Is it not odd I can still acess via FTP, even though though the boot process gets stuck?

Also, while it was in the frozen state, I removed everything I added, (files and folders) and set back the start_neutrino file to it's original condition. I rebooted, via Telnet (and mains lead, lol) but it would still freeze on the EnigTrino black/white loading screen...

Anyway, it's no biggy, just I don't like being beaten! Lol

Thanks again.

Hello i've not read this thread from the beginning but if you edit the start_neutrino file you need to copy it to pc then edit with a good editor like TextPad (DO NOT USE THE FLASFHFXP EDITOR) then copy back to box and chmod 755 or box wont boot

Bob's spot on correct! You are corrupting the start_neutrino file with your edit, m8! I use metapad (freeware) for such edits- 100% reliable!

And try applying a little more patience and lateral thinking! It's hanging during boot, waiting for you to give it a 'proper' start_neutrino file to process. Which at this point, you could quite easily do via FTP. No need for an IFA reflash, LMAO!!

More haste- less speed...

Let us know when you have yWeb all working, and you reach the point where long EPG starts knocking the cam out in 7 Day EPG on Channels 1-100 mode- and we'll explain why, and what to do about it!
Cheers- AL :)

Speed v Haste isn't the issue, I'm just a dumb feck. ;) Anyway, whatever...

Used Metapad, uploaded the file, and all the other gubbins, 755'd everything again.

Finally sorted. Thank feck for that!

I don't use any EPG apart from the default, so that wouldn't have been an issue, I use yWeb because I can control the TV for my nipper when I'm working and he's in the lounge playing/watching TV.

I'll have to rip the yWeb from my box upstairs, because the one I've just installed includes PT's guide, which seems a bit pointless TBH, as well links to other related sites, which again, seems unnecessary. So I guess I'm only halfway there, but at least it's working now, so it's a start... ;)

Good! The point I was making- and this applies to ANY image, is that if you've just edited something in the image, but it then 'hangs' forever on the boot Info screen, all is not lost.

You invariably have Telnet and FTP services up and running at this stage of the boot sequence, so either or both of these tools can be used to undo and/or correct the cock-up just made, and get the dbox fully booting again!

Save the IFA routine for when it's really needed, like Kein System or Loading Kernel freeze-ups...

Cheers- AL :)

Fair comment Al, and I suspected as much, however what ever I tried wouldn't get it it kicking on through the rest of the boot... I replaced the file that was causing me the grief, but it was still failing to boot. Anyway, it was clearly an FXP/Edit issue, so all's good. :)

That said, I've just realised VLC doesn't play, so I'm guessing those files are missing too...? (udpstreampes etc, etc? - just compared it with my 500c box) So, I might just be best off going to VLite2.1, or can I drop the necessary into this image to get VLC playing as well...? (Is it worth it?)

Well, I wouldn't expect anything like that to function in \/irgin+ 2.1 Lite - as I stripped it all out! Hence the 'Lite' - LOL!

We can't see any reason why this shouldn't work in C11, as everything to do with Streaming etc is carried directly over from C10d. Go into Driver/Boot Options and turn ON the Automount item- then reboot, then see if it kicks in...

Cheers- AL :)

Ta mate, I'll try and find some time over the next couple of days...
