OMFG, anyone watching this?

I know it should be almost inpossible to feel sympathy for him and his company after the disaster in the Gulf, but this guy is getting some grilling from all angles. He just doesn't seem to have answers for any of the questions, it's quite embarrassing and cringe worthy.

Poor bastard.

He gets paid huge sums of money so has to answer for this. It is a real grilling though and I dont like their holier than thou attitude, they certainly should not be allowed to throw any stones.

I'm glued to it and I'm cringing like fook for him.

He doesn't seem to know an awful lot about the operations of BP, fook he didn't even know that they owned that well that blew!

I feel more for the poor people of the Gulf states though, some of them have lost everything.

You shouldnt cringe for him m8, think of all that money he makes and he can't even answer their questions, its not so much he cant answer them, more like he arrogantly thinks he doesnt have to answer them.

V14 is spot on...an arrogant fat cat prick.

As for the people who lost out...always the way the working man/woman loses out, while that twat lives the high life.

I just don't like the Yanks arrogance either...always everyone else to blame, we want you to drill for oil for us and sell us it cheap...but if you fek up we will hammer you.

BP did not run the rig, it was subbed out to a bunch of Gun slinging rednecks...
All BP have is the rights to that area of the Gulf. Its the (Y)Wanks that had the complete disregard to safety and did not ensure the blowout device was working before it was sunk.

subbed out to a bunch of gun slinging rednecks by BP.

maybe BP should have subbed it out to professionals instead of doing it on the cheap so the shareholders made more $$$.

I said in another thread that if BP can shove the blame in any way then they will, I would love it if the oil services company is Halliburton (Dick Chennys crew).

Aren't Halliburton only supply and logistics?
Anyway they're are untouchable. Too many fat fingers in that pie m8.

Halliburton torch almost new trucks in Iraq when they need an oil filter then charge washington for a new one.

Rumsfeld made a multi million $ killing on Halliburton shares when the US went into Iraq.

No V m8, they are the 2nd biggest oil services company in the world (afaik), 2nd only to Schlumberger. They do the complete package, exploration, supply drill bits and complete operations of the rig.

They only got the Iraq contract because of Chenney (imho). Yes...they are almost untouchable although they did get fined over £500 million for bribery and corruption in Nigeria.

10 years ago I bought a knocked-off Haliburton laptop for £50, it was worth £600.

HA! Take THAT big business!

Shame it had a Noweigian keyboard though. :err:

Haywards goal was to look remorseful and refuse to be drawn into any specifics about the causes of the accident, I think he succeeded.

Do we ever learn anything from any form of congressional, committee hearings or inquiries? Drones turn up and just recite what their lawyers told them to say. It's a pointless finger pointing PR exercise by the American government.

$20B is two years worth of BP dividend payments, damn those oil guys are rich!

funny you should say that :)

However, the drilling operator and a separate BP contractor, Halliburton, have been blaming each other this week for the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion of April 20th which claimed 11 lives.

Just like the manager of a poorly performing football team gets it, just like a captain goes down with his sinking ship, just like a prime minister gets it when the government is criticized, the head of a company needs to be blasted for whoever sub contracted whatever that caused this disaster.

This is partly the environmentalist lobbies fault anwyay. There are plenty of viable places to drill on land in the US territories, but instead the companies have been forced to drill offshore, 'not in my back yard'.
