BP did not run the rig, it was subbed out to a bunch of Gun slinging rednecks...
All BP have is the rights to that area of the Gulf. Its the (Y)Wanks that had the complete disregard to safety and did not ensure the blowout device was working before it was sunk.

Like with most organistions, the people on the top take the credit for good work and reward themselves big bonuses even if they didnt do fook all but they are also the ones held accountable if anything goes wrong. Typically though, the top people will get rid of the managers below them as they are made of teflon! Well this is what I found from my experience.

If BP subcontracted the work then its their own fault. BP should of held safety checks and if they did then obviously it wasnt that great.
