Bomb scare just down road from me

Wednesbury town centre has been reopened after a bomb was reported outside a police station.

Officers cordoned off a large area around Wednesbury police station after military ordnance was reported in the back of a van close to the station.

A member of the public walked into the police station just before 4pm today and told officers that they had seen a suspect package in a van in the car park next door.

A 400 metre cordon was put in place and a number of roads were closed.

A few years back some old dear saw a suitcase with wires comming out of it outside her house near the town centre, they shut 2 main streets and the block in between evacuating where i worked for a few hours, got the bomb squad to blow it up. Turned out that some woman had thrown her fella out and chucked all his belongings in the case, which included a broken alarm clock with wires showing. lol
