Right then! I have copied a dvd game using a rip kit that produces an ISO file at the end.The tutorials all say just burn to disc and that is it!BUT it never bloody works!!!!! I have dozens of coasters from fu**ed discs!! When the iso file is created,is that all that gets burned to the cdr,just the one big file? Also what is the exact boot method for this type of disc? (using no solder V5 mod)<br />Please help! i did look at the link,but cdrwin didn't seem to want to load up an iso file.Also i need to know if that is all that gets burned.Using the "No solder" Version 5 ps2 chip

once u have an iso<br />i use nero

To burn an ISO IMAGE<br />start Nero close wizard select new<br />goto FILE : BURN IMAGE : then find ISO IMAGE : <br />(eg <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> sgame.iso)<br />select, then burn

and that is the only file that gets burned to the cdr? What boot method is best?

Try this. <br />Step 1 <br />Boot up PS2 with the GS2 v2.x

Step 2 <br />At main menu, press eject and swap GS2 CD with a PS2 Original DVD Game.

Step 3 <br />Press Eject to close (Wait for 20 seconds).

Step 4 <br />Select any Game code list, and turn on or off any code on the list, then press start to go to the with/without codes menu

Step 5 <br />Select with codes, then Press X. It will say “Update Code List” and the dvd stops spinning.

Eject the dvd using the rmod method and replace the dvd with the dvd-r, You have aaabout 8 sec, tray will close and game will load.

does it matter that it's not a dvd-r,but a cdr? (dvd game shrunk to fit)

PS2 CD (Silver or CD-R)

(1) Boot AR2/GS2

(2) At the main screen , select START GAME and then select WITHOUT CODES

(3) Once the AR2/GS2 is asking to change the game disc , press the EJECT button till the light changes from green to orange.

(4) The CD tray will now open and you can replace the CD game with your backup copy.

(5) The CD tray will automatically close after about 5 seconds.

(8) Wait till the the power LED changes from orange to green again and press X now to start the game.

Just burned BURNOUT using nero as mentioned in the post above,but the cosole can't see it!!!!! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

P.S.: I forgot: you don't burn the iso file itself to cd, you burn it as a disc image. use i.e. fireburner or ezcd, or cdrwin. select burn iso, NOT burn files.

I have done what you have said.I burned the disc with the iso using "burn image" with Nero.It said that ihad to finalise the disc,to which i clicked yes to. Put in disc using the ar2 above mention method,disc spins up,then up comes "PLEASE PUT IN PS2 GAME" text!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br />Please help!!!!!!!!!!!! or iæm gonna dig out my Sega!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

Oh my god...its still not working ???<br />Now we have the poblem your psx can not read the cd, right ???<br />Did you follow my step by step instruction...how to start it ???<br />Tell me exactly what are you doing...step by step. That i can find out the problem. Maybe i missed something to tell you.

ok,here we go. <br />I copy the dvd game to hard drive

Then put unzipped rip kit into same directory as game copy

then i run the kit which produces the iso

then open Nero and select "file" "burn image"

I select the iso that was created

and click burn<br />nero says that the disc has to be finalized in order to fit on disc,i just say yes to this.

using ar2 version 2.2,isert and run up<br />i select start game, and then with/without codes<br />when prompted to insert game disc i hold eject until goes orange ( then realese) <br />quickly change discs (before my fingers get ripped off!!)<br />when drawer closes and light goes back to green, i press X

screen goes blank as if it is going to boot but then comes up asking me to insert a ps or ps2 disk!!!!

<br />I can play backed up cd games fine using this method of bootig,it's just the dvd ripped ones that won't work!!!

What game are you copying ??? Some games cause problems...so i need to know the game-name.<br />I will find out what is wrong...

i'm tyring to copy burnout.I only have a few dvd titles. I also have gta3 gt3 evil twin and ssx tricky.

well i recommend you d/l already ripped games like by a group...i just dont see how someone can design a kit that will appply to every game<br />each game needs to be done differently.<br />So i guess that maybe the rip kit did not work.

I have to know what typ of burnout you need...singleplayer or multiplayer. Both have different rip kits.

And by the way ...do you use 80 min CD ???<br />The no solder mod has problems with those.<br />And another importantthing...some games get frozen when you play it...most it is a bad burn.<br />So reduce your burning-speed.
