Hi,

i am in the process of possibly buying a new pc (base station) from internet - how secure are these auctions. Any body got any hints?

you would be better off going to an auction and buying one there ..will be cheaper and you usually see it working ..i buy from auctions all the time and very rarely get a duff bit of kit ..last one i was at a dual processor system (733 x 2 )went for £200 it would cost more for the motherboard ..try your local auctioneers first then considder the internet as what you see aint always what you get..(the buyer beware !!!)

yo Jamez i have also had some very good bargins on ebay and yahoo i always check the ratings and if they look ok its normaly just as safe as mail order never been ripped of yet

You would be better off going to a computer fair and if the parts u r after r still too expensive try the free ads newspaper
....baz

thanks for info. I have been viewing many online auctions now, prices are continuosly dropping, so if i see something tidy, and the sellrs got a good rating, ill go for it. in the meanwhile thanks for the reply. Apppreciated.
