Apple Macbook Pro A1278

Hi guys,

i have been given an apple macbook pro A1278 to look at, judging by the beeps and the drive asking for a disk im guessing it needs a firmware restoration disk but after looking around on the apple site and burning a few disks im stuck. I have looked on the back and I would say its a 2009 model, can anyone help please with a link for the software i need to get this recovered.

You need to find a download for OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard first, which isn't usually free. Once that is installed you can upgrade to later os's free via the mac app store.
But if you see an image on the screen with a question mark, it means that the system can't see the hard drive, which may be the basic problem.
