IRC is a great idea. can help ppl in private. the help usually comes faster then a board. the only bad thing is that you can end up repeating the same thing over and over rather then refer to a webby.

like ephid0r I'm also a script writer and good at eggdrops. used irc for a long time and used to being admin in a room.

i think there would be plenty of support for a irc room for the dbox. if one is setup I'll be there :)

Good point but you could serve all the generic tutorials in the channel and when people ask the same questions just point them to the right one.

I wish I had the knowledge of you guys to join in but I think it will be a little over my head:(

Gives users the option of using the board....or for a quicker solution use the IRC which will prolly be accupied by DW members 24/7.

We could link the topic to the main tut, then the main tut could have sub-tuts, making it easier for the user to find the required tut.

For those who have not used IRC.

Download it here, http://www.mirc.com/

You can mod it too look slightly different and do more things by using http://www.nnscript.de/

Install the nnscript into the exisitng mIRC dir.

Anyhow.....once installed..

You need to setup a new server to connect to. In this case efnet (random or UK)

Once conected to efnet and you see the MOTD (message of the day) you will b able to join #DigitalWorld

Hope this kinda helps!

Eventually figured out how to connect LOL
Not sure wot next ...

maybe as a suggestion the channel should be on the "linknet" network, it is a fully encrypted network which makes things a bit safer.

http://www.xchat.org/ this is my favorit IRC client, it has a build in SSL (encryption) for login into secure channels on Linknet.

there is also the option of creating a "web based" irc client, i can install one on my server so you can do all the irc stuff via the web, this will be much easier for who ever is not to familuar with irc.
drop me an email happy to help cooltool AT gmx DOT net or msg me here.
