Anti Virus Software

Can anyone tell me the best Antivirus software, just had my lappy rebooted with new windows because of crappy viruses etc so I would like the most powerfull one going..... especially if it comes "free"


Any help would be good guys

I use Kaspersky myself (12 month available off fleabay for less than a tenner) but when I work on other peoples I have been putting the latest Comodo on which has antivirus and a good firewall etc, and its free.

Not seen any downside to Comodo yet either, works flawlessly.

I will second that recommendation, it appears ok, got it on three machines even works on windows 7 test software.

I will 3rd it... Avast is top notch. I use it on all my PC's, even the Linux box has it.

i allways thought that was just for ad/mal/spyware im trying different ones at the moment 1 comp as panda seems good had no probs so far, 1 as trend micro which i think is the best ive used at moment and 1 as nod which ive used for a while ive not really had a prob with.

good one. i use avg free and its the business. free version comes with built in spyware detection, a non intrusive shield. variable scan settings, good detection, low on resources, email scanner and a few other toys. avast and avira are also good but they have suffered recently with trojan detection. avg is a no brainer.
