Ant and Dec are being sought by US TV broadcaster FOX to present a US version of their popular Saturday Night Takeaway show.
FOX are keen to snap up the rights for the programme after seeing its ratings success on ITV1 earlier this year.
Presenting the US show may be a problem for the pair, however, who have several commitments for ITV this autumn. A second series of Pop Idol will begin in October, as well as a third series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! and another run of Saturday Night Takeaway.
"Fox want to buy the format and we would have done the deal already except that they want Ant and Dec to do it," said Granada's director of entertainment, Paul Jackson. "That's difficult because of the time pressure here. We believe there is some time in the diary to do Takeaway in the US."
The duo would have to alter their accents to make them "less Geordie" for the American audiences, however, something Jackson said they wouldn't have a problem with because they are actors by profession.
