Advice needed

Hi all,my brother recently gave me hes psp ive had a look at it the barcode at the bottom
the last part of it says PSP-1003 i take it this means its part of the 1000 series
the firmware its running is 4.05
when i open the cover where the game goes on on the corner of the board it has this code IC1003

What are my options for modding this can i just upgrade the firmware to 6.3 and then put on the
6.35 custom firmware? or should i be looking for a pandora battery?

update to 6.60 Pro B9 and install CIPL to make it perminant if you wish

there is only a 1gig memory stick with the psp what size do peeps go for these days 4gig or 8 gig i guess?
