iPod Adding a VA album to ipod

When adding a compilation or VA cd to the ipod, it reads the tags and scatters them by artist.

I know I can rename the tags to put the artist/title on the same line, but is there another way to do it without altering the tags.

You need to add the track numbers in.

Highlight the album and then go to properties (I think) on a Mac it is CMND + I for Info. Then check the Compilation box.

you can also create a smart playlist, this will group them too

Just highlight all the tracks in itunes, right click, get info, then put in VA for ALBUM ARTIST, all will them come together in 1 album and won't change the tags i.e. wil still have Artist and Track name displayed
