Guys, is there anyway possible i can access boxes to perform FTP tasks from home, instead of having to go out to where the box os connected to a network? I mean if i have to call oit to change clines etc, can i do this from home at all?

I'm guessing (I could be wrong) but you would need to setup a VPN or something but of course there are security risks with that.

An alternative would be to use likes of TeamViewer software to connect to your customers/family laptop and then telnet in via that method. It's not ideal, I know.

You need a static ISP IP or a DNS account.

With either you can FTP in from outside your lan but you will have to allow ports 21 & 23 in your router to allow incoming connections to the internal IP of your cloud ibox which should also be on a static IP.
